Last week was held in Vyskov the second edition of the "Consequence Management after a CBRN Incident Course", as part of our eNOVATION project. Indeed, in the context of eNOVATION, two sessions of the “Consequence Management after a CBRN Incident Course” were organized by our partner #JCBRNDCOE. The first session took place last November in Brnö, and the second last week in Vyskov. During this training course, participants were provided with knowledge and tips for managing the consequences of a CBRN incident, and the specificities of these different types of events. Presentations given by JCBRND COE experts or guests included theoretical aspects as well as experience-sharing, giving participants a global view of best practices in the field. Moreover, given the diversity of the audience, participants could also share their personal experiences and learn from each other. Both sessions were a great success, enabling participants to carry away a wealth of knowledge on the subject. Many thanks to our partner Joint CBRN Defence COE for organizing these two learning-rich sessions, and to all participants for their active and insightful participation. #eNOVATION #CBRN #EUfunded #HorizonEurope

The eNOVATION-project participated in the CERIS Disaster Resilience Days 2025 this week! First we would like to thank Giannis Skiadaresis for the opportunity to present the eNOVATION project at this high-level conference and for the enriching discussions on innovation, on how to enlarge the TC-network and about the sustainability of networks ... We witnessed an excellent demonstration from CTMA/UCLouvain by Pierre Vandenberghe, Jean-Francois Durant, and Benjamin Smits of the field-based detection and decontamination technologies for first responders – the operational technology adapted for the use in a mobile laboratory in the field. Secondly, a panel led by Olga Vybornova with panellists Thomas V., Luigi De Dominicis, Edoardo Cavalieri d’Oro & Eleftherios Ouzounoglou provided interesting insights on accelerating innovation uptake by first responders for on-site CBRN response through European and Global Training Networks. A panel moderated by Ives Van Haute with panellists Wiktor Wojtas, Denis JOSSE, Jan Beeldens & Sabina Magalini discussed the possibilities to extend our network of CBRN Training Centres, the ways to enhance the collaboration with other international organisations (EADRCC – UNDRR), and how the sustainability of the network could be institutionalised. We would like to thank all panellists and the audience for the inspiring insights! We invite all Training Centres, colleagues from the industry and other relevant CBRN-stakeholders to join our growing network! #NCCN #CrisiscenterBe #UCLouvain #SAFEFoundation #ICCS #SIC #UCSC #ISEMI #FOI #ADELFAS #JCBRNDCOE #CAMPUSVESTA #UNITOV #WSU #WMP #METU #NUCZU #FDDO #KEMEA #RECC #CNRST #CMSA #MES #HorizonEurope #EUfunded #eNOVATION #AAF #Bullseye #CBRN #Europeancommission #CERIS #preparedness #sustainability

eNOVATION is very pleased to share that the third Joint Activity of the project successfully took place in Morocco. Our honorable colleagues from #CNRST in collaboration with the Hôpital Militaire d'Instruction Mohammed V and its Virology Center hosted this one-week event, during which has been discussed the biological threat that can represent the handling of a Mpox infection. Academic level lectures theoretically presented how Morocco is prepared to respond to such cases, and have been complemented by eNOVATION partners presentations over the Bullseye procedures and the psychological aspects of care that can be used to reinforce Moroccan preparedness. This theory has been put into practice during a table top exercise on which international and Moroccan colleagues collaborated to go through the entire process of care and treatment of a Mpox case. We also could present the network to the members of the African Atlantic facade from Gabon, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Cameroon, and initial steps have been taken to integrate them into the eNOVATION network. Once again, we would like to thank our Moroccan colleagues for their meticulous preparation and warm welcome, as well as all the eNOVATION project partners for their presence and participation. #CrisiscenterBe #NCCN #UCLouvain #SAFEFoundation #ICCS #SIC #UCSC #ISEMI #FOI #ADELFAS #JCBRNDCOE #CAMPUSVESTA #UNITOV #WSU #WMP #METU #NUCZU #FDDO #KEMEA #RECC #CNRST #CMSA #MES #HorizonEurope #EUfunded #AAF #Bullseye #Mpox #HorizonEurope #Training #CBRN #EuropeanCommission  #preparedness  #network

We are very pleased to announce that our first exercise successfully took place in Dortmund !   Thanks to the very hard preparation work and smooth organization from our colleagues from #FDDO and our Exercise Director Sylvia Pratzler-Wanczura supported by #ISEMI, the firefighters of Dortmund and our consortium members and observers were able to benefit at the best from this 2-day exercise.   On the 28th of February, after a warm welcome from FDDO and an introduction from our coordinator #CrisiscenterBe, 2 of our technical partners introduced the audience with 3 technologies for identification and decontamination of chemical and biological substances. Our colleagues from #UCLouvain showcased the LAMP Backpack for identification and DECON VHP technologies, and our colleague from #ADELFAS presented their Quixote project (for cold-plasma decontamination). The audience has then been presented with the #Bullseye procedures by our colleague from #ISEMI, and with a Psychological Emergency Care introduction by our colleagues from #NUCPU.   On the 1st of March took place the Mass Decontamination field exercise on the site of the firefighter brigade of Dortmund. The real-life conditions exercise was preceded by a tabletop exercise to present the procedures that would be used. Then the First Responders have proceeded to the decontamination of 15 intoxicated role-players using all the high-quality tools at their disposal to handle this situation.   During these 2 days, our colleagues from #KEMEA conducted a sharp evaluation of the activities, to make sure that they are fully adapted to our audience and to ensure that all possible improvements are made for future activities. In parallel, all eNOVATION partners were able to take advantage of this opportunity to get to know each other to optimize their future cooperation.   A huge thank you to all our partners who made these 2 days of exercises possible and fruitful, to all the partners and observers who attended the exercise, and to all the Dortmund First Responders who actively took part in the workshops and practical activities.   We're already looking forward to our next activity in Morocco in May. The eNOVATION Project is on track ! Started in September 2024, this 3-years project will be finalised in August 2027. The Centre de crise National coordinates the project, led by a consortium of 22 partners from 16 countries, inside and outside of the EU.   In a nutshell, what is eNOVATION about: In today's rapidly changing world, the rising risks from chemical and biological agents pose global security concerns. First and second responders, including police, civil protection, fire brigade, military and medical emergency services, face exposure risks. To address this risk which is often misunderstood, and overlooked by FR on the crisis scene, eNOVATION will enhance their preparedness. The project focuses on teaching, training and provides them with adequate user-friendly technologies and tools that enable them to improve the global risk assessment on-site, provide more comprehensive situational awareness to the crisis manager, and provide better protection to the practitioners and the population potentially exposed. eNOVATION's ambition is also to expand and transform the eNOTICE CBRN Training Centres (TCs) network into a sustainable EU capability and capacity. To the TCs from European Member States, the project will now include CBRN Center of Excellence Regional Offices and CBRN CoE of partner countries as key contributors. The goal is to create a functional structure that meets the operational needs of the entire Security community for CBRN crisis preparedness and response. The network will conduct pre-normative research and compare standards for the detection, identification, monitoring (DIM), and decontamination (DECON) of Chemical, Biological, and Toxin (CB/T) agents. Key aspects of eNOVATION ambition include providing access to upgraded capacity labelled TCs, advanced training methods using new technologies like VR/XR, user-friendly on-site tools and technologies to security practitioners, updated policies and crisis management adapted to new threats, and enhanced CBRN marketplace access. eNOVATION aims to be the cradle of strategic CBRN capacity within the EU and beyond.   These first 6 months of work within the consortium have been pleasant and fruitful. So we're delighted to officially launch the project's Linked In page, where you can follow its progress step by step.   The next developments are coming very soon!   #CrisiscenterBe #NCCN #UCLouvain #SAFEFoundation #ICCS #SIC #UCSC #ISEMI #FOI #ADELFAS #JCBRNDCOE #CAMPUSVESTA #UNITOV #WSU #WMP #METU #NUCZU #FDDO #KEMEA #RECC #CNRST #CMSA #MES #HorizonEurope #EUFunded
