The device is a portable backpack-type modular unit specially designed for rapid deployment in emergency situations. The fast-setting foam is generated chemically by a reaction between components stored in separate containers. The system includes three cylinders: two for reagents and one for compressed air. The reagent cylinders contain aqueous solutions of liquid silicates (e.g., sodium or potassium silicate) and alkali (e.g., sodium or potassium hydroxide), which initiates gel formation. Special foaming agents are also added to these solutions.
